Pranks, Yoga, and Running.

After finishing my internship a couple months ago, I took a much needed vaca for myself to Alaska (even though I was studying 78% of the time). It was beautiful!!! So glad I got to experience something 100% different than good ol' Florida, or even the United States for that reason. Alaska shouldn't be considered a state if we have to fly over another country to get to it. Like.. what? If I suggest anything, it would be to explore. Travel travel travel!

When I came back after 3 weeks, I started my new job as a Nutrition Educator/Nutritionist. I absolutely love it! Let me tell you, the people you work with can be all the reason you love your workplace, not even what you do. It's just a double whammy that really do I love what I do! On slow hours at the clinic, we play pranks (that some are not even aware of yet), laugh and snort the entire time, Halloween decorating, office yoga, eat candy, make fun of people.. I mean what more would you really want? It's like working in The Office. Seriously, it's that good sometimes. By the way, if you have any funny pranks for a workplace, feel free to shoot me some ideas. Some of my ideas don't work out too well. Listen to this one. I hid a piece of bread in the coffee grounds that were in the freezer (coffee in the freezer apparently lasts longer?), and the next morning I hear a conversation that goes like this.
$Dollar tree decorations!

"Hey, ___ did you put this bread in the coffee?"
"No, but I bet that's what makes it last longer!"
"I'll have to do that when I get home!"
"Yeah, Bread is buy one get one at Publix right now!"      ....  -_-   I mean, really?. So yeah, gimme some tips.

ANYWAY, work aside, I have my Dietetic Internship exam this week to certify me as a Registered Dietitian. Am I freaking out? Um.. no not at all. It's just an exam that test my 4 months of studying + 4 years of college + 1 year of internship. Not a big deal at all, we're cool here. I'll let you be the judge of that. I'm trying to stay confident though. Wooooosa. I actually don't ever say that word nor do I rub my temples to relax. It actually kinda hurts. What I DO do to relax is get an hour massage 1x/week every Friday after work. I'm always counting the minutes and wishing they lasted like 60 minutes each minute. Makes sense. I've tried yoga before but that just requires way too much concentration when my mind is like "What am I going to eat for dinner? How is she balancing? Why is there a guy in here? I have to breathe like WHAT?". My friends and I went to a yoga festival the other weekend. That was interesting. Please look at what this lady tried to have me do.

Looks easy, right?
Not so much. Nothing like face planting the boobs of a stranger.

2012

So I have my Women's Half Marathon in St. Pete coming up next month EEEEK! This is MY race. Every year, this is the one I bust my heart out for. I've gotten First for my age group the passed 3 years, and 4th overall outta 3070 last year! I know I just tooted my horn, but I feel like that's something to brag about. I'm so ready to get out there and beat my PR. I'm hoping to get 1:29 or better. I've been working my legs more at the gym this year so I really hope it did more for me than make my pants tighter.
